Staten Island Ferry sails from a glittering new terminal at the southern tip of Manhattan.

It is free, with wide-angle views of New York City Area and the Statue of Liberty. Enjoy the 25-minute ride !

Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, NYC.

This is the hotel at which I always stay when I visit New York City.(Just Kidding)

New York Subway (1)

subway notice.jpg

Service changes due to track repairs and other maintenance work are frequent (especially after midnight or on weekends). Read the service notice posters on bulletin boards and listen closely to all announcements (although they can be hard to understand...)

The Dakota Apartment, Upper West Side of Manhattan.

(Taken from the entrance of Central Park.)

Most of the residents here have had some sort of public renown, from Lauren Bacall and Judy Garland to Leonard Bernstein and Connie Chung. Of course it is best known as the home of the late John Lennon.

Times Square Area (5)

Walking up along Seventh Avenue, I saw Sheraton New York Hotel at 52nd Street.

Five minutes later, I found myself occupying a comfortable chair in the lobby and enjoying crowd-watching there. Lots of kinds of people coming in, gathering and leaving. It was a great fun to see them in the luxury hotel.

I also found a PC and a printer only for internet flight check-in service, with which I could check-in the flight back to Fort Lauderdale and print a boarding pass.

Having finished flight check-in things, I took a long rest there due to exhaustion after a day long walk in Manhattan.

Times Square Area (4)

When I was about 20 years of age, I was willing to go to a desert place (just like Centre of Hokkaido or Montana) only with an important partner, where we would share a sin or something that any other people could not know nor imagine.

In my ridiculous vision of the future, we would walk and walk in the woods, stepping on fallen leaves and sharing the unspeakable secret forever...

It would make you laugh. But I was serious at the time. Now I come to know I can enjoy solitude even if I am in a large city and it would be much easier and healthier. And I also have to know I should live in solitude totally by myself.
